SOUTH BRISTOL JUNIOR RAPIDPLAY

32 players aged between 6 and 15 years entered our first Junior Rapidplay. It was a hard fought contest over seven rounds with Alex Malibran and James Thomas (both Downend) eventually coming out top with 6/7. A very special mention also goes to 6-year old Muiz Meeran from Bath who scored an amazing 4.5/7!

For many of the children it was their first experience of competition chess and despite having to play under tournament conditions their behaviour was impeccable. Hopefully their experience will inspire them on to even greater things!
All in all it was a fantastic event and one on which we hope to build!
